that he thought that if we persist in our present attitude we should seriously prejudice our future relations with China and that also our present policy was unfortun- ate from an American point of view as President Truman had approved of Generalissimo delegating his power.

The Ambassador saw Generalissimo immediately after mo but I do not know the result of his interview.
